Our “Young People and Families Pastor (YP&F)” is James McKenna.

James has accepted a .8 position at Glasshouse Uniting Church, commencing on 1  September 2021. This is part of his  journey towards becoming an ordained minister.

James grew up as the eldest of 11 children in Wynnum in Brisbane and was brought up as a Roman Catholic. In 2013 he started to sense a calling to ministry. He was attracted to the Uniting Church because of the people at Synod office as well in the Presbytery and the Kawana Waters congregation who were very welcoming. The work the Uniting Church does in the community e.g. Uniting Care, Lifeline and Blue Care appealed too.

He is currently studying a Bachelor of Theology and hopes to be a Minster of the Word.

Interests and Hobbies: rugby league, cricket, watching movies and acting.
